These TTC Bus Routes Just Got A Major Upgrade & Here's How It Will Affect Your Commute
Your morning commute may look a little different due to a recent TTC service change. The Toronto Transit Commission recently announced that it would be increasing service on several bus routes in response to ridership demand.
The changes went into effect on Sunday, January 7 and allow for increased capacity on seven of Toronto's bus routes during busy travel times.
The routes affected include:
- 16 McCowan
- 32 Eglinton West
- 44 Kipling South
- 63 Ossington
- 94 Wellesley
- 122 Graydon Hall
- 129 McCowan North
Travellers can also expect the return of bus and streetcar service to the Dufferin Gate Loop due to the completion of water main replacement and streetcar track renewal on Springhurst Ave. The 29/929 Dufferin will no longer provide service to Exhibition Place and will operate between Wilson Station and Dufferin Gate Loop.
In addition, the TTC announced that it would be extending early morning operating hours for the 329 Dufferin Night bus, coinciding with the start of subway service. This will allow travellers to have a transfer-free journey between Steeles Ave. W. and Dufferin Gate Loop prior to the start of subway service.
Until February, 504B King streetcars will operate between Dufferin Gate and Distillery Loops. Starting February 19, streetcar service from Dufferin Gate Loop will be serviced by the 501A Queen during to new construction beginning on King Street West.
If you're travelling through Broadview Station, all regular bus services are set to resume with the end of construction to renew streetcar infrastructure.
You can expect the return of the 87 Cosburn and 100 Flemingdon Park to Broadview Station, joining the 8 Broadview, 62 Mortimer, and 504/505 King/Dundas replacement buses which started operations there this week.
