If you want to end the summer with a bang, this road trip along the coast of Canada's "best beach destination" is your answer. With kilometres of velvety sand, warm water to dive into, and quaint towns to top it all off — it's a recipe for a perfect vacation.
Here you'll find the warmest salt water in the country and one of North America's "finest beaches,' along with picturesque views that will make you want to hold on tight to the last bit of summer.
This is the Acadian coast, running from the eastern border of New Brunswick — around Dalhousie to Murray Corner. The mid section is where you'll find the warmest saltwater beaches in Canada, hugging the Northumberland Strait.
Stunning beaches are scattered along this scenic coastline, making it the ideal road trip destination. According to Tourism New Brunswick, this is "the best beach destination in Canada," and it's easy to see why.
Parlee Beach is one of the most popular along this coast, and the New Brunswick Parks website said that it's one of "North America’s finest beaches," with "the warmest salt water in Canada and has been awarded the Blue Flag international eco-certification."
Right beside Parlee Beach is the quaint town of Shediac, with its cute shops, Maritime charm, famous lobster, and pretty lighthouse along the waterfront.
Aboiteau Beach is another one nearby with equally stunning views but a more low-key feel.
Keep on driving and you'll find Murray Beach, which is quieter but also worth a visit.
If you really want a Maritime road trip, you can keep the fun going and head to Nova Scotia. Along the south shore of the province you'll find plenty of other charming small towns, like Lunenburg, and dreamy white sand beaches like Cater's Beach.
Or, opt for the other nearby province of P.E.I, which is a destination famous for its summertime beauty. The farmland there stretches into red sand beaches, and breathtaking cliffs enclose them.
