'Canada's warmest saltwater beach' is this 1 km stretch of sand nestled in a cute small town

It's "one of North America's finest beaches." 🌊

Person on a beach. Right: Person on a beach.

A sandy beach in Canada with the country's warmest salt water.

Nestled on the shore next to an adorable small town sits the warmest saltwater beach in Canada. Boasting a kilometre of powdery sand and toasty temperatures, this spot is a go-to summer escape.

The beach is also as picturesque as it gets, with long grass blowing in the water, a boardwalk leading to the sandy shore, and sunset views to top it all off.

Parlee Beach is tucked away just outside of the town of Shediac, in New Brunswick. It has all the beauty that the East Coast beaches are known for, and warm, clear water.

The New Brunswick Parks website said that this is one of "North America’s finest beaches," with "the warmest salt water in Canada and has been awarded the Blue Flag international eco-certification."

As for how warm the water gets here, you can expect temperatures up to 29°C, according to Tourism New Brunswick. That means that diving into the salty ocean here is "warmer than an Olympic swimming pool."

The shallow waters paired with the warm current of the Gulf Stream are what make the ocean heat up nicely — and people flock to the shore in the summer months to take advantage of it.

To make it all even better, this scenic beach is in a cute little coastal town, famous for having the "The World's Largest Lobster" sculpture, and a picturesque lighthouse along the waterfront walkway.

The town is brimming with seafood spots and lobster rolls that fulfill all the Maritime dreams visitors could hope for. There are also cute cafes, boutiques, and art galleries here to check out before hitting up the beach.

There's also a market that runs every Sunday in the summer, where you can find local vendors selling everything from produce to candles.

A vacation here means days spent wandering the scenic seaside town and relaxing on the sandy beach.

If you really want to maximize time at the beach, there's Parlee Beach Provincial Park Campground – a seaside campsite that's just a 10-minute stroll to the water.

An East Coast trip is calling this August!
