Gorgeous white sand shores, crystal-clear waters and summertime magic await at this beautiful beach in Ontario. Offering a little taste of the tropics without leaving the province, this beach feels like a sun-soaked escape straight off a postcard.

Located around 2 hours from Toronto, this lakeside destination is a beautiful spot for a road trip. You can spend the day exploring the surrounding shops and lounging on the powdery-soft shores.

We recently asked Narcity readers what the best beaches in Canada are, and this gorgeous white sand spot in Ontario was one of the picks.

Bay Beach, also known as Crystal Beach, is a picturesque destination located in Fort Erie, along the shores of Lake Erie.

According to the Fort Erie website, it's one of the region's "most popular tourist destinations" and boasts "white sandy beaches and clear warm waters."

The beach area recently underwent extensive renovations and now offers amenities such as a modern washroom facility, a playground, a pavilion, an accessible ramp down to the beach, and more.

Just steps from the beach, you'll find the charming community of Crystal Beach, which is dotted with cafes, restaurants, ice cream parlours and more.

You can wander along the quaint streets and explore the cute boutiques and eateries the area has to offer for a perfect end to the day.

Bay Beach is open to the public, but to ensure the shoreline doesn't get too crowded, you'll need a day pass to access it. Passes cost $5 per person Monday through Thursday and $10 per person from Friday to Sunday. They can be purchased online or at the main entrance.

With soft, white sand shores and crystal-clear water, this beautiful beach is worth a summer road trip.
