Located 2 and a half hours from Toronto, the charming town boasts a historic main street, quaint wineries and sparkling waters.

Whether you're looking for delicious local food, shopping opportunities, silky-soft sand or lush vineyards, this area has something for everyone.

With fall just a few weeks away, it's time to squeeze in a trip to this gorgeous destination while the weather is still warm.

Picton, located in Prince Edward County, is a beautiful community with old-world shops and fun attractions.

The town is situated close to the stunning Sandbanks Provincial Park, where you'll find three sandy beaches that are "are among the best in Canada," according to the website.

You can spend the day at Outlet Beach, Lakeshore Beach or Dunes Beach and relax on the gorgeous soft-sand shores. The park feels like a "tropical island getaway" according to Destination Ontario, and the best part is, you don't need a plane ticket to enjoy the vibes.

Sandbanks is also known for its rolling sand dunes and boasts the "world’s largest baymouth barrier dune formation."

Aside from relaxing at one of the beaches, you can catch a show at Picton's Regent Theatre, dig into some wood-fired pizza at the Three Dog Winery, explore the cute shops along the Main Street and check out Macaulay Heritage Park.
