One of BC's 'prettiest small towns' is this fairytale-like spot with rolling hills and lakes

Step into another world. ✨

This scenic small town in B.C. has all the makings of a perfect summer trip. Sandy beaches set on the shore of a beautiful lake, rolling hills wrapping around quaint streets, and idyllic vineyards scattered about.

It's a dreamy spot with beauty around every turn, so it makes sense why it was named among B.C.'s "prettiest small towns" on a Narcity poll.

If you're in Vancouver and up for a road trip, it'll take you about five hours to reach the town of Oliver, which is set in the stunning Okanagan Valley.

You can also take a short one-hour flight to Kelowna International Airport, and then drive about an hour and a half to Oliver. Better yet, you can journey through a few of the little towns in the Okanagan Valley — stopping in at Summerland and Penticton on the way.

However you get there, Oliver is worth a trip. Aside from being dubbed one of the prettiest in the province, it's also known as 'Canada's Wine Capital'.

Award-winning wineries are all around town, so you can spend the days here sipping with a breathtaking view to top it off. Road 13 Vineyards here will make you feel like you're in a fairytale with its stunning grounds.

If wine isn't your thing, you can head out to the farms, which offer U-Pick, for a fun activity. In August, you can expect to find blackberries, raspberries, peaches, and more at Hillside Orchards — which is about 10 minutes from town.

The scenery you'll find in this area is unlike anywhere else in Canada. According to the tourism website, it's "situated on the northernmost point of the Great Basin Desert," which means you'll see a diverse landscape unique to the region.

Right in town, you'll find boutiques, galleries, restaurants and cute cafes all alongside the beautiful lakeshore. Tuc-el-nuit Lake is peaceful and framed by the stunning mountains and vineyards. Rotary Beach is the sandy shore where you can take it all in from.

Earlier this summer, there was a swimming advisory issued for the lake, so make sure to check the Interior Health website before swimming. Luckily, there are lots of lakes to take a dip in nearby, including Osoyoos, which is the warmest freshwater lake in Canada.

All in all, this area is brimming with beauty.
