A dreamy small town in B.C. that was named among the best in Canada to live in.
This picturesque small town in B.C. is a storybook come to life. Quaint streets with eclectic shops are framed by towering mountains, glistening lakes and meadows of flowers.
It's an all-season getaway, but perfect to escape to as the summer turns into fall. It's the time of year when the ideal day consists of getting out in nature and then cozying up at a cute cafe.
In Revelstoke, that's easy — since some of Canada's most stunning nature is in the backyard and the town is brimming with charming local spots.
This little mountain town was named among the country's best small towns to live in, on a Narcity Facebook poll — and it's easy to see why.
It's a bit of a hidden gem, tucked away in the southeastern part of B.C., between the Monashee and Selkirk mountain ranges. The location is ideal for adventurers, with endless hiking trails, skiing, mountain biking, rafting — you name it — all within reach. Glacier and Mount Revelstoke National Parks are both nearby and full of scenic beauty. According to the tourism website, it's also set in "the world’s only inland temperate rainforest."
The town itself, though, is worth a visit all on its own. Heritage buildings line the downtown streets, filled with locally owned shops and boutiques.
There's even a town gazebo that looks like it could have been plucked from the set of Gilmore Girls.
Murals are scattered around town in "Art Alleries," which gives a vibrant flair to a day spent wandering the streets.
Top it all off with the local breweries, restaurants and bakeries, and you can see why it's such a beloved spot.
As if this town couldn't get any more charming, there's also a heritage cinema here, called the Roxy Theatre.
A visit here has that perfect mix of beauty and adventure.
