Though her ex-husband, Don Lewis, went missing in 1997 and declared legally dead in 2002, investigations continue with Baskin as a person of interest.

On the official Big Cat Rescue website, Baskin explained that she hopes to win the show's Mirrorball trophy and shed more light on the plight of trafficked animals.
