This New Rooftop Bar Near Tampa Is An Ocean-View Tiki Dream (PHOTOS)

There's nothing like sipping a cocktail with panoramic ocean views! 🍹
Contributor

There's almost nothing that can beat The Sunshine State's beachy shores, sunset sights, and year-round swimsuit season. Even if you aren't a beachgoer yourself, the sandy ocean views are something to be admired. Especially when being taken in from the summit of a rooftop bar and restaurant, like Pier Teaki in St. Pete.

Pier Teaki's rooftop spot opened alongside the new St. Pete Pier, a 26-acre waterfront park with a wide array of things to do from admiring art to fishing and strolling the beach. But it's here that you'll want to stop for an evening with cocktails in hand, bar bites, and sunset views.

The theme takes tiki vibes and adds in a mix of casual atmosphere with a sprinkle of modern flair. You'll even find a giant tiki head with his mouth open that serves as the perfect place to snap a quick photo for The 'Gram.

If you're the type that wants to keep the drinks flowing, you'll want to sit near the bar.

Here you'll enjoy Pier Teaki's takes on classic boozy beverages such as rum runners, zombies, old fashioned, mai tais, as well as an array of frozen cocktails like a Frozé or Strawberry Daiquiri.

The drink menu also has a wide selection of draft and bottled brews, wines, and 28 different rum varieties. Some drinks even come in super cute custom cups that tie the theme together.

If you prefer seating that allows you to kick back and be a bit more casual, snag a table or one of the long rattan-style lounges closer to the railing.

Or you can simply stand railing-side and watch the crowds wander all the amenities of the pier below, then meander back to the bar when you need another drink.

A couple of tables with tiki hut awnings will give you a little shade while you soak up those sunset ocean views — in one spot you can even catch a glimpse of the perfectly pink Vinoy Hotel dotting the St. Pete cityscape across the water.

So what about the eats?

Foodies can expect to chow down on bar bites including ceviche, wings, fish tacos, empanadas, burgers, cheesy flatbreads, and more.

Whether you hit up this place first and follow it up with the pier park's neon wonderland after dark, or vice versa, you'll want to make a reservation before you hit up Pier Teaki to ensure you'll have a place to sit — they've been known to get busy.
