Cineplex Theatres Are Opening Across Ontario & There Are So Many Movies To See

Movie lovers, rejoice! Multiple Cineplex locations are opening back up in Ontario this week.

Eight theatres, including ones located in Ottawa, Sudbury, Brantford and Cornwall, will now be showing movies again.

The reopened theatres will operate with enhanced safety and cleaning measures as well as updated physical-distancing procedures.

Cineplex will also be collecting personal information from theatre-goers to assist with contact tracing in certain regions.

"We are excited to welcome our guests back to select Cineplex theatres across the province," said Sarah Van Lange, executive director of communications at Cineplex.

As for what movies will be showing, Cineplex has listed Tom & Jerry, Judas and The Black Messiah, The Little Things, Land, The Croods: A New Age, and Wonder Woman 1984 as films that will be available. 

The theatres that will reopen on February 26, 2021, include: 

  • Galaxy Cinemas Brantford, Brantford

  • SilverCity Sudbury Cinemas, Sudbury

  • Cineplex Odeon South Keys Cinemas, Ottawa

  • Cineplex Odeon Barrhaven CinemasOttawa

  • Cineplex Cinemas Lansdowne & VIP, Ottawa

  • Cineplex Cinemas Ottawa, Ottawa

  • Scotiabank Theatre Ottawa, Ottawa

  • Galaxy Cinemas Cornwall, Cornwall

While six theatres, which are listed below, have already opened their doors to the public: 

  • Cineplex Odeon Gardiners Road Cinemas, Kingston

  • Galaxy Cinemas Belleville, Belleville

  • Galaxy Cinemas Brockville, Brockville

  • Galaxy Cinemas Sault Ste Marie, Sault Ste Marie

  • Galaxy Cinemas Owen Sound, Owen Sound

  • Galaxy Cinemas Peterborough, Peterborough
