A day after Peel Region's workplace closure rule came into effect, two Amazon facilities have been partially shut down.

The new measure, which came into effect on April 23, mandates that any workplace with five or more positive COVID-19 cases must close down, either fully or partially, with a whole shift or work area being shut down.

On April 24, two Amazon fulfillment centres were added to the list of closures. The first is at 8050 Heritage Rd. in Brampton and the second is 12724 Coleraine Dr. in Bolton.

Both are labelled as partial closures and they are the only workplaces on the list so far.

For the Brampton facility, this closure comes not long after a two-week shutdown in mid-March that forced every employee who worked there into isolation.
