This Ontario Oasis Is A Dreamy Day Trip If All You Need Is Nature & Silence

If you're long overdue for a little R&R, then we've got just what you need. You can enjoy the same kind of peace and serenity you'd expect to find way up north at this conservation area near Toronto. Now you can escape the city without committing to hours and hours of road tripping.
Located in Flamborough, Ontario, roughly one hour outside of the 6ix, Valens Lake Conservation Area is just a dreamy day trip away.
With 10 kilometres of nature trails and a 300-metre floating boardwalk that leads you over whimsical wetlands, this spot is basically a hiking lover's paradise.
Everything about the area is calming, including the still waters that act as nature's mirror, reflecting gorgeous sunset views.
There's also a wooden observation tower for you to climb and from here you'll get breathtaking forest views as far as the eye can see.
If you're looking for a spot for a summery picnic date, there are also over 1,000 tables spread throughout the area.
But, if you consider yourself more of a beach bum, you can head over to the conservation area's sandy shores and take a dip in the lake.
If you really want to make the most out of your trip, why not make a weekend out of it?
There are over 200 campsites available to book within the conservation area.
125 of those sites come equipped with electric and water hookups, but all of them offer seriously stunning lake views and beautiful forest-covered areas.
Boating and fishing are also available if that's your kind of fun.
Basically, with so much to do here, you'll likely never want to leave.
During the summer this little slice of paradise can get quite busy, often reaching maximum capacity.
So be sure to check the website for updates and alerts before you head out.
Admission to the area will cost $15 for a car and its driver plus $5 for each person after that or walk-ups.
So pack a picnic and lather up that SPF because it's time to explore some of the best that nature has to offer just outside of the city.
