Ontario has a little Hallmark-style village with 3 beaches and storybook streets

It's a beautiful spot for a summer escape.

This charming Ontario village looks like something that was plucked from a Hallmark film. With colourful storefronts, sandy beaches, sparkling blue water and historic streets, it's an enchanting spot for a day trip or weekend escape.

Tucked away on the shores of Lake Huron, this hidden gem is home to scenic waterfront views and a picture-perfect downtown to explore.

Bayfield is a charming lakeside village located about 2 and a half hours from Toronto. It's especially dreamy in the warmer months, when it comes alive with patio dining, ice cream stops and flower-filled streets.

You can spend the day browsing local shops before heading down to the water for a stroll along the lake.

According to the village's website, Bayfield offers a "Hallmark experience" complete with "one-of-a-kind boutique shopping, unique restaurants, wineries, breweries, hiking, accommodations, and more."

The village's storybook streets are lined with colourful boutiques, restaurants and historic buildings, creating a charming setting for window shopping.

Market29 is one spot to add to your itinerary. What started as a Christmas pop-up has grown into a unique shopping destination where you can browse artisanal goods, gourmet treats and locally made baked goods.

For something sweet, stop by Rosie's Ice Cream Shoppe. Or, head to Shopbike Coffee Roasters, where you'll find treats and specialty drinks.

No trip to Bayfield would be complete without seeing the water. The village is home to three picturesque stretches of shoreline, including Pier Beach, one of its most popular waterfront spots, and Howard Beach, which is reached by a scenic staircase.

Bayfield is also part of Ontario's beautiful West Coast, a stretch of Lake Huron shoreline known for its sandy beaches, charming communities and spectacular sunsets.

If you're planning a longer getaway, you can pair a visit with a road trip through some of the other beautiful small towns in Ontario, or explore more of the stunning beaches around Lake Huron.

From browsing colourful shops to grabbing an ice cream and wandering down to the water, Bayfield is filled with places to spend a dreamy day away.

With its lakeside setting, historic charm and storybook atmosphere, this little Ontario village deserves a spot on your getaway list.
