The Newnan Police Department asked for the public's help to locate two runaway pigs in a hilarious social media post

Newnan police officers and animal control spent hours tracking down the pigs, but could never get close enough to catch them before they ran back into the woods.

Police say that the pigs were someone's pets and they suspect that the owner moved away and the pigs managed to escape, but they are still investigating.

The department described the pigs as "very hamsome" — one is black and the other is white/pink with black spots.

After an exhausting chase, Newnan police turned to the public for help saying, "We can’t chase them anymore, or we’ll need a ham-bulance."

Many are commenting on the post that the best way for the police to catch the runaways is to lay on the ground and wait for the pigs to approach them.

Newnan police are asking that if anyone sees the pigs or is able to "bring home the bacon" to please call 770-254-2355 and select option “0.”

But be careful... "maybe they do karate where they learned to pork chop," the department wrote.
