The famous North Georgia State Fair has officially been canceled due to COVID-19 for the first time since World War II in its 87 years of entertaining Georgians.

The organizers released a statement explaining the uncertainty of COVID-19 and that they want to keep everyone safe rather than open to the masses.

North Georgia State Fair

In place of the fair, the organizers have talked about hosting a drive-thru event that's all about fair food and won't even require you to leave your car called the Taste of the Fair.

While this replacement is still in the works, the prospected dates are set for September 26 through 28 as well as October 2nd through the 4th, taking place in the Jim R. Miller Park.

Even if the experience won't be the same, the drive-thru fair food event would make it so you can grab your favorite greasy and sugary snacks you get every year at the fair.
