Over 14 years after Arnold Schwarzenegger, and nearly 50 years after Ronald Reagan, held the office of Governor of California, the state may soon see another celebrity be elected to lead.

Current Democratic California Governor Gavin Newsom is possibly facing a recall election this Fall due to what some are considering poor handling of the COVID-19 pandemic, and it seems Keeping Up With The Kardashians star Caitlyn Jenner, 71, might be throwing her hat into the ring.

Multiple sources tell Axios that Jenner has been speaking with political consultants about possible running and is also being assisted by Caroline Wren, who is a longtime Republican fundraiser.

The former Olympic athlete is known for her strong Republican values, but People magazine reports that she stated in 2020 that her values have changed, saying she is now "economically conservative" and "socially progressive."

But her chances at victory may be slim if she decides to run, as a recent poll done by the Public Policy Institute of California found that just 40% of Californians actually want to remove Newsom from office.
