Albertans Can Go To Outdoor Concerts & Public Hot Tubs Again As Of Friday

Indoor tradeshows are also back on the agenda.

The measures imposed due to COVID-19 in Alberta continue to ease. 

On Thursday, July 16, the Government of Alberta announced that outdoor concerts (including vocals), outdoor hot tubs and whirlpools, and indoor trade shows are permitted starting Friday, July 17.

We are making these changes because the evidence shows us that these particular activities are not adding significant levels of risk.

All of these activities still have to maintain pandemic safety measures, including physical distancing and other directions given by public health officials. 

Dr. Hinshaw, the province's top doctor, said that restrictions will be in effect for performers on stage too, such as placing barriers between them to ensuring distancing. 

She said that public health still remains a top priority.
