A Hamilton Doctor Is Calling Out Patio Tents For Not Actually Being Outdoor Dining

"Outdoors means good airflow and open space."
Senior Writer

With outdoor dining in Ontario being allowed even in lockdown areas, a doctor is calling out patio tents for not really being "outdoors."

Dr. Zain Chagla, an infectious diseases physician at St. Joe's Hamilton, shared a photo of a tented patio on Twitter and voiced his concern.

He said that the outdoors is safe because that means there is "good airflow and open space."

When it comes to tents with roofs and sides, Chagla said they're showing up more and more but "this is not outdoors."

A day before he tweeted this, it was announced that Hamilton will be going into lockdown because of "concerning trends."
