When it comes to mental health in Canada, one province is leagues above everywhere else — and even the country as a whole.

Morneau Shepell has put out the Mental Health Index for November 2020 and a positive score means better mental health.

On the other hand, a negative score means a decline.

Overall, Canada had a score of -11.1 last month, which was up slightly from when it was -11.4 in October.

-2.7 Newfoundland & Labrador's mental health score

When it comes to provinces, Newfoundland and Labrador had the best score in November at -2.7. That's the highest of any province!

In second place was the Maritimes, which was at -10.3 last month.

B.C. was at -10.6, Ontario was at -11, Alberta was at -13, Saskatchewan was at -13.8, and Manitoba was at -14.6 during the same month.

Since May, no province has received a better mental health score than Newfoundland and Labrador.

Earlier this year, calls to CAMH about mental health surged by 750% from March to April, which is when the COVID-19 pandemic began to affect Canada.
