11th Montreal's Verdun area's rank out of the top 40 cities

According to U.K.-based global media and entertainment company Time Out, a Montreal neighbourhood snagged number 11 on their list of places that balance standout local culture, food and fun with community support and kindness during the year 2020.

The neighbourhood is called Verdun, a borough of the city of Montreal, Quebec, found along the St. Lawrence River.

To make the list this year, this area had to meet a number of criteria including great vibes, good dining and nightlife, and independent culture on top of community spirit.

The statement from Time Out said for 2020 the list was "praising the neighbourhoods where people showed unconditional love and support for the communities and local businesses who represent the soul of the city."

Our southern neighbours also topped the list in many cities such as Downtown, L.A.; Bedford-Stuyvesant, New York; Wynwood, Miami and more.

The number one neighbourhood on the list was Esquerra De L'Eixample in Barcelona.
