A Haunted Orchard Is Opening In Ottawa This Fall & They're Hiring Zombies Right Now

Get paid to scare people this fall! 🧟
Contributor

Attention all zombies, witches, and goblins! A terrifying haunted orchard has launched an Ottawa job posting and you can apply until August 31. So if you want to earn some extra cash this fall and have a ghoulishly good time while you do it, then this might be the job for you.

Located roughly 40 minutes outside of the capital in Crysler, Ont., Cannamore Orchard is gearing up for yet another spooky “Acres of Horror” event and they need your help to pull it off.

The orchard is currently looking to hire everyone from actors to narrators, chip truck cooks, safety and security staff, and tractor drivers.

So, whether you want to scare the hell out of people or simply cook up chip-truck treats, there’s a position with your name on it here.

There are five different acting roles available and each of them will require you to scream, yell, and use your improvisational skills to send chills down the spines of all attendees.

In certain roles, experience operating a chainsaw is considered an asset as well.

You’ll be paid for your work in one lump-sum payment in mid-November and you must have a SIN. The number, not the misdeed, although that might help too in this role.

The five different part-time acting roles include a narrator, a speaking role, a screaming role, scene support, and a tractor driver.

You can find a full list of role requirements on the orchard’s website.

With a number of new health and safety protocols in place, things will look a little different this year.

“The 2020 season will definitely be different, both in terms of the attractions themselves and how we operate,” reads a blurb on the website.

“The safety of our staff has always been our top priority, and we will make sure that everyone stays safe while still putting on some Halloween scares.”

Application forms can be downloaded on from the Cannamore Orchard’s website, but they must be dropped off in person.

If you’re a good fit for the orchard you can expect to hear from them in early September.

The event will open on September 25, but some positions will require you to come in earlier.
