Health Canada Confirms That Pfizer Vaccine Vials Have A Bonus Dose In Them

We can get more out of them!
Senior Writer

With the latest Pfizer vaccine update in Canada, it's now been authorized that every vial has a bonus dose.

Health Canada announced that it's issued a label change that shows how many doses can be taken out of each vial.

6 doses can be taken from each vial

Now, six doses can be extracted from vials rather than the five that have been used since the vaccine got approved.

This comes after an independent and scientific review.

Health Canada said its review found that six full doses can be taken from vials consistently when certain syringes are used.

Even though the change comes into effect right away, five doses will continue to be used from vials that provinces have already received.

All shipments received in the future will be handled as six-dose vials.

Canada recently came to an agreement with Pfizer to buy an additional 20 million doses of its vaccine and they could be delivered in April.

Health Canada has a robust website with all the latest information on the vaccine and can answer any questions you may have. Click here for more information.
