A Saskatchewan Camper Was Killed In A Black Bear Attack Last Week

No one else was injured but she was with two small children.
Contributor

A group that was out camping in a remote part of northern Canada was the subject of a fatal black bear attack in Saskatchewan.

RCMP say that in the evening on Thursday, August 20, a black bear attacked a woman who "sustained significant injuries" and was pronounced dead when medics reached her.

Initial reports are the bear was destroyed at the scene

Buffalo Narrows RCMP

The woman was camping with two small children under the age of ten and a man in his 40s.

It's the first fatal bear attack in the entire province since 1983 and it happened in an extremely remote area about 150 kilometres from Buffalo Narrows.

The public isn't at risk right now since the bear was reportedly destroyed, say RCMP, and they're planning on doing an animal autopsy on it.
