These Are The Only Places In Texas You'll (Probably) See Snow This Winter
Most of Texas has proven elusive to winter snowfall, making it difficult for Texans to experience a true winter wonderland.
But there are spots in the lone star state where you can find the beautiful but dangerous weather, and while they might be a long road trip away, they are sure to provide you with an unforgettable winter experience.

Guadalupe Mountains
Where: 400 Pine Canyon Salt Flat, TX
Why You Need To Go: This spot in far west Texas will give you the most beautiful snow sights but only if you're willing to hike for it. The high elevation will also make it a much colder environment, but the spot is sure to feel like a true Texas winter wonderland.
Big Bend National Park
Where: Window View Dr, Big Bend National Park, TX
Why You Need To Go: The world-famous national park serves up some of the best winter sights in the entire state. The Chisos Basin is a particularly good spot to find some beautiful snowfall in January and February.
Lubbock
Where: 2500 Broadway, Lubbock, TX
Why You Need To Go: This Texas town is home to the beautiful campus of Texas Tech and is also one of the more central spots in the state where you can find a blanket of snow in the winter. A walk through a winter wonderland is very achievable here, as strolling through the campus during a snowfall is truly unforgettable.
Amarillo
Where: 13651 I-40 Frontage Rd, Amarillo, TX
Why You Need To Go: The most northern popular Texas town, Amarillo receives more snowfall than any other city in the state, making it probably the best place to find snow. The famed Cadillac Ranch is truly a sight to see when it's covered in winter weather.
El Paso
Where: 300 N Campbell St, El Paso, TX
Why You Need To Go: The furthest West Texas city is in fact a spot where snow can be found in the Winter months. In fact, the city has already received its first snowfall this fall/winter, and it was just in October. The mountains of El Paso make for beautiful but harsh hikes.
Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex
Where: 1600 Gendy St, Fort Worth, TX
Why You Need To Go: Snow is not super regular in DFW, but it's not uncommon to see some snowfall just about every year. While it's not much, it can still make for a beautiful winter sight that you won't want to miss.
