With quaint shops, frosty holiday windows and warm cafes, you can spend a day like a Gilmore at this magical destination.

Unionville, a historic destination located in Markham, is a dreamy spot to visit during the holiday season. The little village served as Stars Hollow in the pilot episode of Gilmore Girls, so you can expect some major charm and nostalgic small town vibes.

On December 14, 2024, Main Street Unionville is hosting its annual Olde Tyme Christmas event and it's full of holiday cheer. You can enjoy a parade, lighting ceremony, carollers, free skating and more.

The event is free to enjoy and is a magical way to get into the Christmas spirit.

There are several beautiful photo ops sprinkled throughout the town, including the glowing Christmas bauble at the bandstand and the garland-wrapped gazebo that will give you all those Stars Hollow feels.

The shops along the Main Street are charming places for holiday shopping or simply finding something special for yourself. You won't want to miss out on a trip to the Old Firehall Confectionery where you'll find all sorts of Christmas sweets and goodies.

It isn't a trip to Stars Hollow without grabbing a coffee, and there are several cafes where you can find cozy drinks, including Espresso 21 Cafe and Alchemy Coffee.

True Gilmore Girls fans will want to take the self-guided Gilmore Girls Tour which leads to filming locations throughout the area.

With Stars Hollow vibes and Christmas cheer, this cozy spot near Toronto is a magical place to visit during the holidays.
