This enchanting Christmas market is a short drive from Toronto and it will have you feeling like you're wandering along the festive streets of Germany.
The City of Kitchener is bringing back its annual Christkindl Market from December 5 to 8, 2024.
The event is "straight out of a European Christmas storybook" and you can "enjoy a cup of hot chocolate and listen to Christmas carols while strolling around the twinkling and sparkling market," according to Explore Waterloo Region.
It's just over an hour from Toronto, making it a magical spot for a festive day trip.
There will be over 75 vendors selling authentic goods such as jewelry, toys, decor and accessories. It's a great place to get some holiday shopping done.
No Christmas market is complete without food, and there are lots of treats to enjoy at the Christkindl Market. According to the market, you can "follow the scents of vanilla and rum in the air to the fresh baked Christstollen and Spitzkuchen gingerbreads."
From pretzels to waffles, you can have a mini holiday feast at this spot.
The market also offers live performances, such as the Charlie Brown Christmas soundtrack live on stage.
Other highlights include photo ops, an ice rink, cozy outdoor lounge and miniature train model display.
