Good news for travellers! GO Transit is introducing some new ways to travel to and from Toronto this spring and it could make your commutes a lot smoother.

Metrolinx is in the midst of "transforming its bus network to provide more frequent trips on core bus routes for customers and better connect them to major destinations" has a "number of service enhancements" beginning in April.

GO Trains will be closing their doors early starting Monday, so you'll need to get on board a little quicker.

A Metrolinx spokesperson told Narcity that starting January 9, the doors on GO trains will close one minute before the train's scheduled departure time to help speed up travel.

On Thursday, the Ontario government announced that the Confederation GO station in Hamilton will begin construction in the fall. The transit project aims to reduce gridlock and connect more people to their jobs, housing and transit over the next three years.

Premier Doug Ford said in a press conference in Hamilton that the new station will connect people to the GO Train network. The service will offer two-way all-day service along the Lakeshore West line.

If your commute to work involves hopping aboard the GO train, you might want to check the schedule before you head over to the station because there are "possible cancellations" this week.

The GO Transit website currently has an advisory that warns transit riders to be prepared for potential setbacks with some of their trips this week, and encourages them to "plan ahead and give yourself extra time."

Honda Indy Toronto is returning to Exhibition Place this week. Fun times, but also annoying because, boy, the city is not messing around in terms of road closures.

According to the city's news release, Lake Shore Boulevard West between Strachan Avenue and British Columbia Road will be closed to all vehicle traffic from 9:00 p.m. on July 13 to 1:00 a.m. on July 18.
