Ontario is home to the world's longest canopy boardwalk and it's breathtaking in the fall
Ontario has no shortage of scenic trails, but this elevated walkway lets you explore the forest from a whole new perspective. The experience takes you high into the treetops, where you'll be completely immersed in vibrant fall colours.
Located in Haliburton, the walkway is a magical way to enjoy the autumn season, and it will have you feeling like you're floating above the forest floor.
The Haliburton Forest Canopy Tour is a unique adventure that's even more beautiful during the fall.
The four-part experience takes 3.5 to 4 hours to complete and begins with a scenic drive through the private forest bursting with autumn hues. Next, you'll paddle your way across Pelaw Lake in a canoe, where you can see the red and orange trees reflected in the glassy waters.
After a guided tour along the Pelaw River Rapids, you'll arrive at the canopy boardwalk.
At over half a kilometre long, it's the longest canopy boardwalk of its kind in the world, and offers some spectacular views. The suspended walkway sits 10-20 metres above the ground, allowing you to walk through the golden leaves and enjoy the forest from above.
The forest is also home to a Wolf Centre, where you can catch a glimpse of the resident pack from the observatory with an additional admission fee.
Or, you can explore some of the other scenic trails that wind along the forest floor and take you through a kaleidoscope of fall colours.
