Someone was trapped in an elevator at an OC Transpo station in downtown Ottawa, and firefighters had to use ropes to rappel down and bring the passenger up to safety.

On Sunday, August 21, Ottawa Fire Services tweet that they arrived at the Parliament OC Transpo station on Queen Street, between Bank and O'Connor streets, after getting a report that someone was stranded in an elevator. It took them about five minutes to get there after they got the call from OC Transpo.

In a statement posted to Facebook, Parachute Ottawa said that a skydiver "succumbed to fatal injuries" following a skydiving landing around 12:30 p.m..

Ottawa Fire Services (OFS) pulled off a heroic rescue after someone was found unconscious in a vehicle hanging off a ledge above the Rideau River on Friday evening.

At around 8:30 p.m., OFS received a call from the Ottawa Police Service (OPS) about a vehicle collision on Bank Street and Riverside Drive, according to a press release sent to Narcity.

Ottawa Fire Services rescued seven pets, including five snakes and two birds, from a burning house during the wee hours of Sunday morning.

On July 10, the fire service tweeted that they responded to a fire, which started on a deck, at Bayview Drive around 3 a.m. Responders said the blaze "extended up the side of the bungalow into the attic."
