Tampa Will Be Hotter Than The Amazon Rainforest This Week

And almost as rainy, too!
Contributor

Florida is full of places that make you feel like you’ve been transported to another country, but nothing quite does that more than the weather! This week, Tampa residents can take a mini-trip to the Amazon Rainforest just by stepping out of their front doors. With soaring temps and torrential rain, Tampa's weather will feel like the Amazon Rainforest this week.

The Weather Channel reports that while Tampa Bay mornings have been starting off cool, temps are predicted to soar up to the low 90s for the next 15 days.

In contrast, the Amazon Rainforest in Manaus, Amazonas, Brazil is looking at temperatures hovering in the mid-80s all week. Can you say welcome to the Florida jungle?

All that Sunshine State heat doesn't necessarily mean you're in for clear sailing to beach days this weekend though. There's a 50-80% chance for rain all week. Thunderstorms will be possible in 10 out of the next 15 days as well but are expected mostly in the evenings.

The Weather Channel

The Brazilian Amazon is predicted to see a characteristic 40% to 60% chance of rain daily, with scattered thunderstorms to boot. Humidity levels in the rainforest hover anywhere between 68% and 94% daily.

Humidity levels for Tampa Bay are predicted to range anywhere from 62-79% throughout the week.

The National Weather Service reports that isolated storms in the Atlantic off of Florida's southwest coast also have the potential to push north through The Gulf and drench the west coast even more.

And just last week, some beaches near the Tampa area had nearly disappeared under swelling tides.

While conditions aren’t currently hazardous, they can sometimes change on a dime. It’s always a good idea to be prepared and have shelter in mind, just in case.

Floridians are no strangers to fluctuating conditions, but staying alert and checking in with weather updates will keep you in the know before you go to those sandy shores!
