Now that The Weeknd's Super Bowl halftime show performance has been announced, he's joined a very elite club.

The Canadian artist shared that he'll be the headliner for the halftime show next year.

He's one of just a few Canadians who have taken the stage during the NFL final.

The Weeknd is the first Canadian to perform at the Super Bowl since 2003 and just the third to do it ever.

Shania Twain took the stage back in 2003 along with No Doubt and Sting.

Before the Windsor-born artist did the show, Canadian Dan Akroyd performed with his band The Blues Brothers in 1997 and the theme was Blues Brothers Bash.

The 55th Super Bowl will take place in Tampa, Florida on February 7, 2021.

A Canadian played in the 2020 Super Bowl and was on the winning team. He's also a doctor and helped out with the fight against COVID-19 in Quebec.
