We hit a turning point today here in Toronto: We saw the first snowfall of the season.

That's right, folks, flurries were spotted in downtown and in the west side of the city.

Nicole Karkic, The Weather Network meteorologist, took to Twitter to confirm the news.

There were mixed reactions to the first sign on winter on Twitter.

One user expressed their excitement, writing, "First snow of the season in Toronto! I didn't think I'd feel excited about it but here we are."

Others weren't so happy.

The Weather Network had previously predicted snow and cold weather in the Northwest region of Ontario today, but wasn't calling for snow in Toronto.

Ready or not, the snow has arrived. It's time to get those parkas out of the closet!
