Guelph Humane Society is flexing its superb-ish art skills for charity, and you can get a one-of-a-kind portrait of your pet.

(Bad) Pet Portraits is a GHS initiative running from August 4 to August 27, where the GHS Board of Directors will send you a digital copy of a hand-drawn portrait of your pet.

The only catch is that the portrait may be slightly below professional grade.

Natalie Thomas, GHS marketing and communications manager, told Narcity that they have had over 300 pet portraits purchased so far.

"It's done so well, we've raised well over $5,000, we've surpassed all of our goals, and they said it's come in from all over the country across and even across North America. We had a number of portraits being ordered from the prairies and the maritime and British Colombia at one point."

"Even some states as well, so people are purchasing them from everywhere."

GHS Board of Director David DiMatteo says that as a child, he "would never colour within the lines and still [hasn't] figured out how to," on the GHS website.

A single pet portrait costs $20, and if two animals are in the picture, the price rises to $25, and if there are three pets in the photo, it's $30. All proceeds from the portraits go to helping the animals in GHS's care.

The artist can take about three weeks from submission to create their masterpieces and send them out digitally "because true art takes time to create!" according to the website.

Submissions close tonight at midnight, so if you want to memorialize your pet in style, you might want to hurry. You can order a bad pet portrait here.
