Ontario has announced that more people are eligible to book a COVID-19 vaccine appointment through the province's online system.

Starting on Tuesday, May 11, at 8:00 a.m., group two of essential workers in Ontario can book their shot, including grocery employees, transportation workers, restaurant staff, and more — the full list includes 15 categories of workers in this group, which also includes individuals with at-risk health conditions such as dementia and diabetes.

On Thursday, May 13, at 8:00 a.m., all Ontarians who are turning 40 in 2021 will also be able to book their appointment through the online portal.

Last week, Health Minister Christine Elliott announced that the province is on track to meet its goal of vaccinating 65% of residents by the end of May.

Toronto hit its own vaccine milestone over the weekend, administering at least one dose of a COVID-19 vaccine to 50% of the city's population.
