Get ready for a messy Monday to kickstart Ontario's weather this week. A heat warning is currently in effect for southern parts of the province with thunderstorms and hail on the way.

The Weather Network reports that Monday will be hot and steamy, with temperatures rising to the 20s and 30s in some regions. However, with the high humidity, it may feel more like 40 C in some areas.

Environment Canada has issued heat warnings for a majority of southern Ontario, including Toronto, London, Niagara and Waterloo.

According to the Weather Network, the high heat and humidity may bring intense thunderstorms on Monday and Tuesday, along with hail, winds, and torrential downpours.

Around Wednesday, a cold front should provide some relief and cool off temperatures into the 20s for the rest of the week; however, more rain and thunderstorms may appear.
