Shoppers Drug Mart Employees Test Positive For COVID-19 In Multiple Ontario Locations

Some Ontario pharmacies are starting to report COVID-19 cases among their employees. 

Loblaws Companies Limited confirmed that 17 Shoppers Drug Mart employees tested positive for the disease since September 24.* 

The company, which keeps an updated list of all their confirmed in-store cases, is working closely with public health to ensure the proper precautions are taken.

17 positive COVID-19 cases at Shoppers Drug Marts

"In these cases, we work closely with public health and follow their guidance to ensure proper notification of close contacts and required cleaning and sanitization in our stores," a Loblaws press release states.

Out of these 17 incidents, nine of them were reported in the city of Toronto. 

Multiple Loblaws grocery stores in the province have also reported cases over the last week as well. 

Last month, 60 Ontario pharmacies began offering COVID-19 testing, including numerous Shoppers Drug Marts.

The appointments, which must be booked over the phone beforehand, can only be secured by people who are displaying no symptoms.
