Winter might seem never-ending, but brighter days are ahead. Pretty soon spring will start to bloom, and this magical garden in B.C. is the perfect place to go when it does.

Set on Vancouver Island, this garden is dripping with colourful blossoms, and it was just ranked among the "best in bloom spots to visit outside of Europe" by Away Holidays.

If you've been dreaming of the cherry blossoms in Japan or the tulip fields of the Netherlands, but don't want to make the trip, The Butchart Gardens will give you all the beauty without a flight.

Away Holidays crafted the curated guide to spring bloom destinations for 2025, advising travellers to head to Victoria's Butchart Gardens from late April to early June.

Tucked away just 25 minutes from the city, this garden is an escape from the bustle, with it's famous Sunken Garden and blooms ranging from daffodils and azaleas to tulips. Wandering around the garden you're constantly surrounded by beauty, with expertly manicured areas and little pathways to guide you through.

The beautiful oasis has been worked on for over 100 years, now spanning 55 acres and designated a National Historic Site of Canada.

Each area of the garden offers a different vibe, from the Italian to the Japanese Gardens, and there's over 900 plant varieties within.

The garden is open from Monday to Sunday, and adult tickets are $31.65 per person. You can purchase the tickets ahead of time on The Butchart Gardens website.
