Jared Leto is ready to step into the grid.

The actor shared a first look at the upcoming Disney film titled Tron: Ares which is currently being shot in Vancouver.

Leto posted a photo on his Instagram page on February 29, which shows him wearing a red suit as his character Ares.

"ARE YOU READY?? TRON: ARES 2025. See you on the grid," the actor wrote in the caption.

The Tron franchise began in 1982 when the first film starring Jeff Bridges came out. Bridges starred as video game creator Kevin Flynn who gets transported into the digital world.

Tron: Legacy then follows Flynn's son Sam (played by Garrett Hedlund) who gets pulled into the same digital world where his father has been trapped for 20 years.

In a press release on February 29, Disney announced Tron: Ares "follows a highly sophisticated Program, Ares, who is sent from the digital world into the real world on a dangerous mission, marking humankind’s first encounter with A.I. beings."

Production on Tron: Ares has faced some delays due to the SAG-AFTRA strike. Filming resumed in January 2023 and is set to wrap up in May 2024.

Along with Leto, the cast includes Greta Lee, Evan Peters, Jodie Turner-Smith, Hasan Minhaj, Arturo Castro, Cameron Monaghan and Gillian Anderson.

"I'm excited to be part of the Tron franchise and bring this new film to fans around the world," the film's director Joachim Rønning said in the Disney press release.

"Tron: Ares builds upon the legacy of cutting-edge design, technology and storytelling. Now more than ever, it feels like the right time to return to the Grid."

Tron: Ares will hit theatres sometime in 2025.
