Hollywood productions are ramping up in Vancouver and that means plenty of big-name celebrities are in town.

From a Suits spinoff to HBO's Season 2 of The Last Of Us and a new film starring Reacher actor Alan Ritchson, many shows and films are shooting in British Columbia in March.

Here are 10 big productions that are underway now or about to get started and which celebs you may see around town while they're filming.

Playdate

Alan Ritchson will be heading from the Reacher set in Toronto to Vancouver to work on his latest project.

According to Hollywood North Buzz, the film Playdate is about two stay-at-home dads who are on a playdate with their kids when things take a turn and they spend the rest of the day trying to "solve a conspiracy" and not get killed.

Ritchson is slated to star alongside Kevin James in the action film.

No other cast has been announced at this point. The film will be directed by Luke Greenfield.

Filming is scheduled to wrap up production in mid-April.

Suits: LA

A Suits spin-off is starting production in Vancouver in late March.

Arrow actor Stephen Amell will be the lead actor in Suits: L.A., which is an "extension of the Suits universe," according to Deadline.

The NBC spinoff will follow a character named Ted Black, who is a "former federal prosecutor from New York who has reinvented himself representing the most powerful clients in Los Angeles."

Deadline reports the show is "not a reboot or revival but a brand extension" of Suits.

Several people who worked on the original Suits show, which aired from 2011-2019, will be working on this new spinoff, including Aaron Korsh who was the creator and writer of the series.

Many Suits fans may be wondering if any original cast members will be appearing in the new show, and it looks like it could happen.

In February 2024, Gabriel Macht and Patrick J. Adams told The Hollywood Reporter they hadn't been asked to be a part of the new show yet. However, that doesn't mean they're not open to bringing their characters of Harvey and Mike back.

"I mean I think it's in a world where some characters could in fact come [back]," Macht told THR.

No premiere date for Suits: LA has been announced yet.

Schitt's Creek actress Catherine O'Hara, Kaitlyn Dever and Young Mazino will be joining Merced as new cast members this season.

On February 19, one of the show's lead stars, Pedro Pascal was spotted in Vancouver.

According to Deadline, the film will follow Ares (played by Leto) who is a fictional character that crosses over from the world of video games to planet Earth.

The Tron franchise began in 1982 when the first film starring Jeff Bridges came out. Bridges starred as video game creator Kevin Flynn who gets transported into the digital world.

Tron: Legacy then follows Flynn's son Sam (played by Garrett Hedlund) who gets pulled into the same digital world where his father has been trapped for 20 years.

Production on Tron: Ares has faced some delays due to the SAG-AFTRA strike and is now scheduled to wrap up in May.

In mid-February, Breckenridge and Zibby Allen who plays Brie Sheridan, posted a photo together after arriving in B.C.

"Hello loves, we are here in our Vancouver apartment getting ready to make some television," Breckenridge said in her Instagram stories at the time.

"I had a wardrobe fitting this morning for three hours. So hopefully we've found something to wear. I think we did [...] There will be some new looks and maybe some throwback looks to last year."

The show also stars Tim Matheson and Ben Hollingsworth.

Seasons 1 to 5, which were also filmed in B.C., are available on Netflix.
