Westjet Passengers Flying From Vancouver Can Get COVID-19 Tests At The Airport This Fall

COVID-19 testing at the airport will be a reality in Vancouver soon. 

WestJet and Vancouver International Airport announced on Friday, August 28, that COVID-19 testing will be available soon.

New pilot project that will incorporate COVID-19 testing for WestJet guests on select departing flights out of YVR.

The details of the testing process will be available in the weeks ahead, but the airport said they hope to launch it "this fall."  

As for why they're putting this in place, both companies said that it's a "natural evolution" of their historical commitment to maintaining safety standards and facilitating travel for passengers. 

The results of the trial will be used to further improve travel in the COVID-19 world, said the news release.
