It appears that Doug Ford's popularity amongst Ontarians has been plummeting since the second wave of COVID-19.

According to a new poll by Abacus Data, while Ford saw improved approval ratings during the beginning of the pandemic, those numbers have been fading over the last three months.

39% Percentage of Ontarians that have a positive view of Doug Ford.

The popularity of Ontario's premier has dropped a whopping 7% since October.

"Just about four in ten Ontarians have a positive impression of the premier while 35% have a negative one," the survey states.

Over 64% of Ontarians surveyed also believed that the government hasn't had a clear plan to deal with COVID-19.

However, Ford's overall approval is still sitting much higher than it was before the pandemic.

He is also still ahead of his political adversaries with his closest competition, NDP's Andrea Howarth, sitting at just 27% approval rating, compared to Ford's 39%.

Ford sat at the bottom of provincial approval ratings back in 2019.

Over the summer of 2020, the Ontario leader held second place as the country's most popular premier.
