On Monday, June 7, Canadian tennis player Eugenie Bouchard shared some "bad news" on Instagram.

The athlete said that she had been experiencing pain in her right shoulder since last fall. Things worsened when she tore her subscapularis in March.

"Since then, I have tried every form of conservative treatment and rehab known to man, to no avail. So last week, I pulled the trigger and had arthroscopic surgery," Bouchard wrote.

While she said that the doctor told her that "everything went great," she did note that she has a tough road of rehab ahead.

Though, the positive queen did say "my spirits are high and I will work hard to get back to the job that I love." She thanked her medical team and, of course, her fans. "I will be busy in the next few months and I'll keep you posted!" she concluded.
