You Can Still See The 4th Of July Fireworks In These South Florida Spots

COVID-19 can't keep the fireworks grounded.

The skies over the Sunshine State will still be illuminated this weekend. 4th of July fireworks in South Florida are expected to burst throughout the state as tradition sees fit. However, the light shows will look a bit different this year.

Typically, the fireworks shows from Jupiter to the Florida Keys attract thousands of revelers to parks and the shoreline. The COVID-19 pandemic has put a squash on the in-person ceremony this year as cities discourage large crowds.

But the show must go on, as cities and counties have devised a plan to carry on this time-honored tradition while keeping up with social distancing rules.

In Miami-Dade, multiple cities will host the 4th of July fireworks in varying degrees. Residents in Miami Lakes and Doral are being asked to watch the show from home. Miami Gardens will allow people to come to Hard Rock Stadium to witness the display in a drive-in format, encouraging spectators not to leave their cars.

All fireworks shows within the county will end by 9:30 p.m. to comply with the new curfew order.

Up in Broward, Fort Lauderdale will carry out its traditional 4th of July Spectacular, but with a twist.

The city will launch the pyrotechnics from four different points, allowing residents to enjoy the spectacle from the comforts of their own home. For those that can't see it in person, it will be broadcast on YouTube and FLTV.

Margate, Plantation, and Pompano Beach will hold Independence Day fireworks, with Margate allowing vehicles to park on the side of Banks Road.

Enthusiasts in Palm Beach County won't be left out of the fun. In regular times, West Palm Beach would pack its downtown waterfront for its Fourth on Flagler event. This year the city is hosting festivities in two undisclosed locations.

The city, like most locales in the region, is encouraging its residents to watch the show from the comfort of their homes.
