Get up close and personal with the stars! Netflix's Happier Hour is a brand new weekly YouTube series that features familiar faces chatting and hanging out on Zoom calls. The featured celebs come from some of the streamer's most popular shows and movies, including an up-and-coming Canadian actress.
In the trailer for the social series, Netflix writes that new episodes will premiere every Thursday in July on their official YouTube channel.
"The stars from Netflix films and series are surprising fans and spreading some much-needed joy," the caption reads.
In the video, you see Space Force stars Lisa Kudrow and Diana Silvers, Fuller House's Jodie Sweetin and Candace Cameron Bure, The Lovebirds stars Issa Rae and Kumail Nanjiani, and Patriot Act's Hasan Minhaj.
Plus, Canada gets some representation with Mississauga-born Never Have I Ever star, Maitreyi Ramakrishnan.
"We paired up some of your favourite Netflix talent to talk about what keeps them going during quarantine, and to surprise to some deserving people," the trailer reads.
"What have you been doing to stay sane?" Rae asks Nanjiani.
He replies, "Watching old cartoons and movies."
In another clip, Bure tells her Fuller House co-star, "I am hooked on TikTok!"
The celebs also use the Zoom calls to surprise fans who look pretty shocked to virtually meet their favourite stars.
"I'm glad we got to bring Oprah energy to COVID," Minhaj says.
"Your work is so inspiring," Ramakrishnan tells a fan.
Kudrow declares to someone else that, "Guess what? There's another surprise."
This is a pretty unique venture for Netflix considering that most of its content goes directly on the streaming platform.
However, their YouTube channel posts more than just trailers. You can find some behind-the-scenes content, blooper reels, cast interviews, and clips from their best shows and movies.
