The magic returns!
After weeks of waiting for Governor DeSantis’ official word and a false start with resort dates, Disney World Orlando is officially reopening July 11. Several of their vacation clubs and resorts will be opening later this month as well. While there will be some adjustments to get used to, you can finally break out your Mickey ears and start planning your summer trip again.
The Magic Kingdom and the Animal Kingdom will be the first of Disney Orlando's theme parks to begin their phased reopening on July 11, followed up Epcot and Hollywood Studios on July 15. You will have to make a for your park day, however, as well as reservations for any dining plans.
Face masks will be required for anyone two years old and up. Cashless payments and downloading the My Disney Experience App to stay up to date on any new adjustments are highly recommended by the park.
About a week ago, reopening dates for some Disney resorts were. Now, we finally have confirmation on several openings.
Beginning Monday, June 22, Animal Kingdom Villas at Kidani Village, Polynesian Villas and Bungalows, Wilderness Lodge, Villas at the Grand Floridian, and some of their other resorts will open.
Disney's cleaning methods will also be expanded. Resort rooms will be thoroughly cleaned before your arrival, as well as extra sanitation attention to the high touch spots and common areas like benches, handrails, and TV remotes. Glassware provided in your room will come individually wrapped.
Transportation to and from resorts and parks will still be available, although social distancing measures will be in place, which Disney's website says may cause some delays.
The Minnie Van service will also not be available during the initial opening, with no return date currently listed. You'll still be able to self-park, but the valet service will be temporarily unavailable except for visitors with disabilities that may require staff assistance with a valid disability parking permit.
While the magic continues, some Disney attractions and extras have been suspended or canceled for the foreseeable future. Guests won't be seeing Fastpass+, Extra Magic Hours, until further notice.
