"I don't think I've ever given a speech without mentioning something that my mom has taught me," wrote Singh in the caption. "From the idea of maintaining Chardi Kala, 'rising spirits' in the face of hopeless odds Or the idea that we are all one and that if we lift up the people around us we all rise."

He went on to wish Happy Mother's Day to "all the moms' who raised us, nurtured us and taught us," before making fun of the adorable pout baby Jagmeet is doing in the image.

He wasn't the only party leader to post a major throwback photo to mark the occasion. Prime Minister Justin Trudeau also paid tribute to his mom via social media, sharing an old photo of himself wearing a white tank top!
