This Dreamy Nova Scotia Cabin For Sale Comes With A Whole Private Island Included

It's still cheaper than a Toronto condo! 🤑
Managing Editor, Canada

If you’ve ever dreamed of living on a secluded island that’s all yours, look no further. There’s a house for sale in Nova Scotia that comes with over eight acres of private land and you’ll be surrounded by views of the ocean!

Buying a waterfront property in Canada sounds pretty expensive, no matter what part of the country you live in.

However, there’s an adorable cabin for sale in Nova Scotia that is surprisingly affordable and it comes with much more than just ocean views.

The extraordinary home is actually located on its very own private island.

What’s perhaps most surprising, though, is that the whole thing could be yours for less than the price of a downtown city condo!

Where's the island located?

The island is located in West Dover, Nova Scotia, just 30 minutes from the provincial capital of Halifax.

While the city is just a short drive away, this private paradise couldn’t be further away from normal city living.

According to the real estate listing, the isle sits “just off shore” beside another much larger island.

While there is a neighbouring piece of land, it's totally uninhabited and even acts as a natural break water.

The new owners won’t have any neighbours, but they will be surrounded by woods, meadows and granite shorelines, as well as panoramic views of the Atlantic Ocean.

What's the property like?

If the private island wasn’t enough, you’ll also get the adorable cabin that sits upon it!

The home has two bedrooms and one bathroom, as well as an open living-dining area and a reasonably sized kitchen.

It’s described as “off-grid,” but it’s likely that there’s some sort of power as there’s a dishwasher, multiple lights and electric sockets.

The house also has a deck that surrounds the whole property, so you can enjoy ocean views from almost anywhere.

Perhaps the most incredible thing about this home, though, is the huge outdoor staircase. It leads from the cabin’s front door down to the deck, and then down again directly into the water.

How much does it cost?

Despite the priceless views, this home is cheaper than you’d expect.

The 8.8 acre island, plus the two-bedroom cabin, is currently listed for just $675,000.

While this certainly isn’t pocket-change, it’s much more affordable than many downtown city condos!

In fact, a fire-damaged property in Toronto was selling for over $1 million, and a nearby teeny-tiny house with two small bedrooms was selling for almost as much.

For a whole private island and an adorable cabin, less than $700,000 suddenly seems like a pretty good deal!
