Savannah's Massive New Adult Playground Finally Opens To The Public Today (VIDEO)

Bites, booze, slides, swings, and neon; time to book those hotel rooms!
Contributor

Savannah's got a new kid in town and it's said to be the newest hot spot in the city for both tourists and visitors. The new Plant Riverside District finally opened downtown and you can pretty much call it an adult playground. From bars to retail shops to hotels, this spot has it all.

This new district opened on Wednesday, July 29 after experiencing delays due to the novel coronavirus. It's a waterfront property with a myriad of attractions.

A power plant used to occupy this space until the idea of this adult playground was proposed. The twin smokestacks that were here back in 1912 can still be seen, this time with lights making them glow.

Spread across 4.5 acres, this was a $330 million dollar project according to Thrillist. There's a quarter-mile walkway by the river, over a dozen culinary experiences, a few retail shops, and really cool bars, including some on rooftops.

Whether you're visiting the city on business or just to explore, the district has everything you're looking for.

A few restaurants you can expect to see are Riverside Sushi, District Smokehouse, Graffito Pizza, Riverside Biergarten, Savannah Square Pops, Savannah Tequila Co., Stone & Weber Chophouse, a rolled ice cream shop, and a cafe.

When it comes to nightlife, this is where you'll want to be. There'll be music that plays throughout the day and night, so it'll always feel like a party at the Plant Riverside District.

Two bars that need to be on your must-visit list are Electric Moon Skytop Lounge + The Moon Deck and the Myrtle & Rose Rooftop Garden.

Electric Moon's Skytop Lounge is a rooftop bar and club all in one. It has a slide that takes you from the rooftop to the Moon Deck, as well as LED-lit swings and life-size Twister that you can play with your BFFs.

Myrtle & Rose Rooftop Garden feels like a secret garden oasis, serving up botanical-inspired cocktails and shareable plates while you soak up sweeping views of the Savannah skyline.

Throughout the district, guests will be able to see many monochrome dinosaur replicas, artifacts, and prints that go with the overall prehistoric theme.

No matter where you end up going here, you're sure to run into something cool.
