There are so many amazing spots to go on road trips from Seattle but put Lincoln City on your list. It's one of Oregon's favorite coastal towns. Head about five hours south of the city to visit some of the most impressive natural structures, perfect for any season.

When seeking the lighter side of things, you can head to God's Thumb, a Lincoln City gem.

There is no need for a parking or hiking pass, so find a place to park and head over to the trailhead.

The formation is a basalt peak sitting just above the coastline. It looks like a massive thumb's up, hence the name and has sweeping views of the Pacific Ocean.

Two hiking routes will get you out to the thumb, both of them will require you to follow roads and trails that are unmarked but begin at Road's End State Recreation.

If you are looking for a more scenic option, there is a 4.4-mile loop that has a varying degree of sites between forests, beach views, and more.

The second path is a bit shorter of a hike at 3.4 miles.

Then there is Otter Rock, aka the Devil's Punch Bowl, it is a beautiful structure with an exciting story.

It's dubbed that because "during winter storms, water from the restless ocean slams with a thundering roar into a hollow rock formation shaped like a huge punch bowl," writes Oregon State Park's website.

It is the suspected remains of a sea cave; it's believed that the roof collapsed, which created the unusual natural rock formation.

The park is a popular destination for folks who are geology buffs as well as whale watching or ocean enthusiasts.

It's a kid-friendly area with tons of tidepools to investigate around the north side of the bowl.

The two Lincoln City staples are about a thirty-minute drive from one another, so you'll be able to check two popular coastal destinations off your list!

Pack a picnic, and enjoy the natural beauty that the Oregon coast has to offer.
