Planning a little staycation in 2024? This Ontario city might be the place to go. St. Catharines has been named one of the trendiest spots to visit in Canada for the upcoming year and it offers a range of attractions and things to do.

St. Catharines is the largest city located in the Niagara region. According to Niagara Falls Tourism, it's known as "The Garden City" due to its "lush greenery, vast hiking trails and picturesque parks."

The region earned a spot in Airbnb's 2024 travel predictions, securing its position among the "trending 2024 domestic destinations for Canadians."

There are many things to do in St. Catharines, from enjoying the scenic trails, dining at the restaurants to shopping at the local stores downtown.

Since St. Catharines is located in wine region, you can explore many vineyards and sip "world-class, award-winning" beverages. Hernder Estates Wine, Henry of Pelham Family Estate Winery and Rockway Vineyards are among some of the places you can visit.

You'll also want to take a trip to Port Dalhousie, a charming waterfront community boasting sandy shores of Lake Ontario and a distant view of Toronto.

St. Catharines' downtown core is brimming with entertainment venues, local shops, craft beverages and a Farmer's Market. It's a lovely place to spend a day.

Several other Ontario destinations made Airbnb's list of the "trending 2024 domestic destinations for Canadians," with Toronto coming in at number one.

Other spots across Canada include Silver Star Mountain, British Columbia and Gatineau, Quebec.

Whether you're planning a day trip or weekend retreat for 2024, St. Catharines has tons of attractions and more to offer.
